Churchill’s Nuclear Bunker

RAF Uxbridge Battle of Britain Bunker

This was interesting. I think it may be elsewhere on the website anyway, but I had to open a nuclear bunker for the RAF. Also underground was the head office for Winston Churchill’s war operations room where you can see his chair he sat in and gave orders to the people who used to move the attack around on the large SitRep map. He used to sit above it so he could see everything. There is also the Red Phone that he used to communicate securely with Whitehall and other areas of government, and there was also one single switch on the wall that used to cut out all electricity across the entirety of London!

It’s a private museum now, by invitation only, and they asked me if I wanted to see it while I was opening the bunker door. A memorable job!
